Veterinary Program

The goal of compounding medicine for animals is to create patient-specific dosages in strength and formulation. This improves a veterinarian’s ability to treat your pet in a more efficient and effective way by broadening their prescribing abilities, putting you and your pet at ease. At Harbor Health and Apothecary we ensure you will receive both high quality medications and excellent customer service

How compounding medications can help:

1

Flavored Medicine for those picky eaters

  • Beef, chicken, tuna, salmon fish oil, assorted fruit flavors
  • Additional flavors can be ordered upon request

2

Solving Dosage Problems

  • The same dosage for a Mastiff would not be suitable for a French Bulldog. We create a dosages to cater to the needs of each pet

3

Commercially Unavailable Medicine

  • Occasionally a manufacturer may discontinue a veterinary medicine. Even though some pets may still need the medication, there may not be high enough demand in quantity to make the production of the medicine cost-effective. If the medication was beneficial to the animals, a compounding pharmacist can prepare a prescription customized to the animal’s preferred dosage form, strength, and flavor

We look forward to helping with your pet’s medical and health needs!
